Guo Yezhou, vice minister of International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, said China was committed to supporting Nepal for stability, prosperity and development.

During his meeting with former prime minister Deuba, Guo extended congratulations to Deuba on behalf of Chinese President Xi Jinping on the successful completion of local, provincial and parliamentary elections and on ensuring implementation of the constitution, according to Deuba’s aide Govinda Pariyar.

The two also discussed age-old relationship between the CPC and the NC established by BP Koirala. Stating that the two parties should work to further strengthen the relations, Guo also invited Deuba to visit China.

Accepting the invitation, PM Deuba said the bilateral relations between the two countries, which began from the Araniko era, should be further strengthened in the days to come. Deuba also thanked the Chinese government and for its continuous support for Nepal in various areas, said Pariyar.

Similarly, Vice Minister Guo, in his meeting with Dahal, said the Chinese government was committed to cooperating with the to-be-unified Communist Party of Nepal.

During the meeting held at Dahal’s residence in Lalitpur this morning, the two discussed contemporary politics and cooperation between China and Nepal. Guo also inquired about the seven-point deal between the CPN-UML and the CPN-MC for the unification of the two parties.

In his reply, Dahal said the unification was for political stability, development and prosperity of the country. He said the unification was decided with the aim of adopting socialism suited in the Nepali context.

Vice Minister Guo welcomed the integration of the two parties and said China would fully support the unified party. He also said that China was committed to all the agreements made with Nepal and would continue to work for the stability, prosperity and development of Nepal, according to a statement issued by the CPN-MC.
