CHILD MARRIAGE IN NEPAL

Nepal has the third highest prevalence of child marriage in South Asia. In 2016 alone, 20 cases of child marriages were reported in Nepal. UNICEF has defined child marriage as a formal or informal union before 18 years of age. The minimum legal age for marriage in Nepal is 20 years.
