The National Assembly comprises of 59 members, with eight elected from each of the seven provinces and three appointed by the president on the recommendation of the Government of Nepal.Of the total 56 elected members, only 21 members (i.e., 37.5%) are women. CPN UML is the largest party in National Assembly with a total of 27 members, followed by Nepali Congress (13 members), and UCPN-Maoist (12 members).
