NEPAL's FALLING MATERNAL MORTALITY RATIO (MMR)

Nepal witnessed a 73% decline in the number of women dying in pregnancy, during labor and after childbirth between 1990 and 2016. Nepal achieved Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on reducing the maternal mortality rate and now under Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aims at reducing MMR to 70 by 2030.
