PRESS FREEDOM RANKING IN THE WORLD, 2018

On World Press Freedom day, Nepal in Data takes a look at Nepal and its fellow SAARC members' World Press Freedom Index 2018 reported by Reporters Without Borders. Bhutan ranks highest among the SAARC countries with a world rank of 94. This is 10 places down from last year despite maintaining its Index score at 30.73. Though Nepal (second among the SAARC countries) placed 6 places lower globally, its Index score improved by almost 1 point. Only two SAARC countries, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka managed a higher rank and improved their Index scores.
