The government has invested Rs. 312.1 billion in 37 public enterprises that employ 28405 people. Nepal Telecom is the most profitable of these with profit of Rs. 15.3 billion. However, not all public enterprises are as successful- nearly 30% of them made a loss in fiscal year 2017/18.
