SHARE (%) OF CAPITAL EXPENDITURE IN FISCAL BUDGET

The purpose of capital expenditure is to invest in long-term assets that create future benefits, for instance roads, airports, bridges, sewage systems, hospitals, electricity grids etc. In Nepal, capital expenditure allocation by the government has not exceeded 30% of the fiscal budget in any year. Furthermore, in the past 6 years, only 72.3% of the allocated capital budget was spent.
