A new system initiated by the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) to inform the people about the results of their driving license test through SMSs is getting popular.
The system was launched on January 15. The use of ICT has proved very effective in informing licence aspirants about the test schedules and results. People can receive the information by sending SMS to 4321 for just Rs 3.
According to Jivan Sedhai of DoTM, around 5,500 people availed the service within a month.
At least 300 people apply for licence on every working day.
