The Human Development Report Office (HDRO) will release the Human Development Indices and Indicators: 2018 Statistical Update, which includes UNDP’s signature index, the Human Development Index (HDI) as well as other relevant human development indices and indicators on 14 September 2018 at 10am EST.
The 2018 Statistical Update, available online, provides an overview of the state of human development – snapshots of current conditions as well as long-term trends in human development achievements – and works as a bridge towards the next generation of Human Development Reports. The 2018 Statistical Update includes over 120 global indicators, composite indices and dashboards. The human development composite indices comprise:
In addition to the composite indices, the update also presents standard tables on various human development indicators. Five statistical dashboards draw attention to the relationship between human well-being and the 1) quality of human development; 2) life-course gender gaps; 3) women’s empowerment; 4) environmental sustainability; and 5) socioeconomic sustainability. These new dashboards align the family of human development indicators with the Sustainable Development Goal indicators.
