ROLPA: The resins available at the community forests have become a boon for the community forestry users groups and local governments in Rolpa district.
The transactions of resins worth millions of rupees every year from the district have directly benefitted the community forest users groups and local governments.
n the last fiscal year, a total of 2.59 million kilograms resins extracted from the community forests of the district was sold out in which the community forests had earned Rs 2.64 million. Likewise, Rs 3 million was allotted to the District Coordination Committee, according to the District Forest Office, Rolpa.
At least six resin and turpentineindustries were involved in extracting and collecting resins last year.
Similarly, resins collection is being carried out from 205 out of 625 handed-over community forestry users groups in the district.
